LRW designs New Radisson Blu, Hull

We are pleased to announce that we have won the opportunity to redesign a major riverside development at Manor Hill. The redesign introduces the internationally renowned hotel ‘Raddisson Blu’ to Hull together with its significant restaurant & bars, meeting rooms and pool/leisure facilities. These public accessible facilities contained over three storeys have been designed to allow full visibility and interaction with the waterside walkways and bringing a vibrancy to the developments central civic square. The curved facade of the hotel rises 12 storeys above the waterside offering the 168 No quality bedrooms sweeping panoramic views over the city. The combined partnerships of Manor Properties and Leach Rhodes Walker working together with the Raddisson Blu hotel brand is seen as a landmark asset for the City of Hull and the development of the waterfront.

Wolfgang Neumann, president and CEO of Carlson Rezidor, Radisson Blu’s parent group, said: “The United Kingdom is a key mature market for us, and we are delighted to bring our core brand Radisson Blu to Hull, which will be the UK’s “City of Culture” in 2017.”

Mark Bailey, hotel development director for Manor Property Group, said: “We are delighted to be working with Rezidor in bringing a Radisson Blu to Hull – an upper upscale hotel is much needed within the city and will make a significant contribution to raising Hull’s hospitality profile.

“The Radisson Blu completes the jigsaw for Manor’s prestigious East Bank multi-use development Manor Mill, enabling work to commence shortly. The exceptional facilities which will be provided by the development are timed to be open prior to Hull’s tenure as UK City of Culture 2017.”

The hotel is scheduled to open in late 2016 in time to benefit from Nottingham being ‘The City of Culture 2017′.
