Exciting Progression for Warrington
Last nights committee meeting revealed the great news that our plans for the Bridge Street Quarter regeneration project have been approved! The scheme will comprise a New Council Office (100,000 sq ft), a New Market Building (35,000 sq ft), a new state-of-the-art Cineworld Cinema (2500 seats), 8 new Restaurants, new MSCParking for around 1200 cars, small retail units and a significant new public realm. Working alongside Muse Developments we aim to breathe life back into Warrington's historical streets, which will transform the community and create hundreds of new jobs.
The £107m development featuring in the BBC news (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-36154272) has gained a lot of attention with the locals as the scheme is undoubtedly set to make the centre "more attractive for shoppers and visitors alike" (Council Report). The first Phases' currently on site which includes the Temporary Market, enabling locals in the near future to continue their daily shopping whilst construction takes place.
